F.A.Q.
Who is behind this initiative?
A sponsoring committee, made up of individuals from the Swiss and international community, is behind the proposal to offer this sculpture to Geneva in 2009.
Where will the sculpture be placed?
Initially the sculpture will be cast in fibreglass and exhibited in different locations around Geneva in 2009. It will be part of the Calvin exhibition in the Parc des Bastions during July (subject to final approval from the city authorities), and will then be moved to the World Council of Churches till mid September. During this time the city of Geneva’s contemporary arts committee will discuss the possibility of acquiring the bronze version of the sculpture.
How much will it cost?
There are three phases to the project: designing and making a scale model of the sculpture requires €5,000. Creating the ten full size pillars in fibreglass and installing them in Geneva has a budget of €30,000. The permanent bronze casting of the sculpture will cost another €200,000.
